BMW Production Championship

The Production BMW Championship is a low-cost, one-make race series for the BMW E30 (the boxy model from the 1980's). It was founded in 2004 by a group of Lotus owners from SELOC (the Lotus Enthusiasts Club) looking for a cost-effective way of going racing. After its first successful year at Lydden Hill the series is now run by BARC on a national basis but keeps its SELOC roots. The series has proved to be affordable, fun and safe, as well as providing competitive and very close racing.

For 2006 we have linked up with the Classic Touring Car Racing Club and will be visiting circuits all over the UK as well as a quick trip to France as well. Circuit details aren't finalised, however the provisional calendar is : Castle Combe, Mallory Park, Thruxton, Brands Hatch , Lydden Hill, Croix en Ternois (France), Oulton Park, Pembrey (Wales) and Snetterton. The link up with CTCRC means that SELOC drivers will have the opportunity of not only racing in the Production BMW Championship race, but also racing in the Pre 93 Touring Car Series races at most events.

Costs are kept low by limiting cars to either the 318i or 320i models with only limited modifications permitted. However, costs are not cut when it comes to safety and high standards are maintained in this area.

In addition to the Production BMW Championship, SELOC Motorsport also runs a sprint championship, aimed at providing Lotus owners with a safe and affordable introduction to motorsport.
